Issue with mounting tires on rim.
Tire: Dunlop 130/90-16 CruiseMax Wide White Wall.
Fitment: 1948 WL HD front rim now, rear yet to mount.
1st attempt to set on rim: Dishwashing soap and water, 40 LB as Dunlop warning not to exceed on tire label. A very honest attempt to get it to mount, using all of the tricks, no such luck even on one side.
Internet search for tricks, contact Dunlop tech support.
2nd attempt: Complete disassembly, wash off ALL soap, dried, inspect for damage to tube or tire setting area and rim, minor paint scuffing, no concern or cause for not setting. Installed tire on rim. Lube-Napa Silicone Grease for O-Rings and Electrical connections on rim setting area and tire seal lips. Inflate to 100+ psi. After Neanderthal working the area still not setting even on one side, deflate, resetting the bead/lube, re inflating, more Neanderthal actions to get it to set, it finally did set. One side done.
Moving attention to the other side, not seated. Deflate, re lube areas, re-inflate, games start again. A total of 4 days, after a work day, spent trying to set the beads, finally got both sides are set. My white walls are now scuffed from my actions in this fight, not to mention a bruised thumb (twice) in efforts to get it to seat.
I have the rear tire (Dunlop 130/90-16 K591) to mount yet, will try to set the bead on the rim before actual mount (hopefully stretching the bead before hand will assist in the final mount).
So far, this is my only issue and I feel the tire is not worth the fight, my bad for not doing the full research and finding this problem beforehand. Live and learn.
I sure these are great tires, tech support said this is a common issue with there tires, I wish the engineers would actually work (have to mount what they design) with there product that they give the customer.
