Great front
I've gotten 20,000 miles or better out of 3 AV53 (so far) on my Honda NC700X. It handles nicely and sticks well on cold, wet and roads as well as warmer – good confidence in big rain too. It deals nicely with tar snakes and grooved roads without surprises and it's easy to tell when it's about time to get a new one as the tread pattern crosses the center.
My only complaint is that the price has gone up quite a bit. -
Great for Montana mix - more like an 80/20
I keep coming back to Avon Trailriders after trying other multi-compound tires such as the Michelin Road 5 and Road 4. I'm getting equivalent miles out of the Avon rear and more yet out of the front. And in all conditions and circumstances I feel these perform as well or better. Not hurting that they are a bit cheaper as well ; }
